The library has an information literacy skills program based on web-based tutorials and online testing. The version designed for English 24-level classes, introduces students to the various types of information sources (books, periodical, and electronic), and gives basic information about how to find information from these sources. The version designed for English 100-level classes covers these topics in greater depth, and also teaches students how to use specific research tools, and addresses the evaluation of found information for accuracy, bias, and reliability. Mastery of the material is assessed through a Laulima quiz.

You can request to have materials from the Pearl City campus and other UH system libraries sent for pick-up at the Waiʻanae Moku Education Center. See the intra-system loan page for more information about requesting materials. . When you place your request, choose "Leeward CC Waianae Moku" from the Pick Up Location menu. Be aware that you'll get the e-mail notification that the item is ready before it's actually available for pickup at Waiʻanae Moku, because the message is automatically generated when the item is processed at Pearl City.

Distance Education courses are delivered over cable television, two-way interactive video, or the Internet. The library offers services and resources to students who cannot conveniently come to the library in-person.
Students enrolled in DE courses who are unable to visit either the Pearl City or Waiʻanae campus should contact the Student Life office to inquire about obtaining a student ID card. The student ID serves as your library card at all University of Hawaiʻi system libraries.

The public is welcome to visit the library. Please understand that this is not a public library, and our services and collections are focused on serving the needs of the college's students, faculty, and staff.
Members of the public can purchase a UH Libraries Community Borrower Card, which gives limited book borrowing privileges at most UH libraries. Reduced rates for those 60 or older; free for qualifying UH retirees. See Appendix II of the UH Libraries Circulation Policy for more information.
