Conducting Research in the Library

The library contains millions of articles, hundreds of thousands of books and ebooks, streaming movies, genealogy subscriptions, guides, pathfinders, and tools that you can find online or in person... But how?!

This guide contains an activity for familiarizing yourself with four of our most popular resources, connects you directly to additional information and links for finding information on controversial or argumentative topics, as well as all the information you need to citeyour sources in the MLA, 8th edition formatting style.

Library Resources Jigsaw Activity

A jigsaw activity allows students to teach each other how to explore and use library resources!

For this jigsaw, each row represents a group (1-4). Each group with refine keywords and explore one of the following resources:

  • Credo Reference for background info
  • Primo for books & ebooks
  • Proquest for news articles
  • EBSCOhost for scholarly articles

Once your home team is done exploring the resource, the teams will be mixed up, and each expert will lead their new teammates through each resource.
