What are Peer-Reviewed Journals?

Peer-reviewed journals are used by researchers to report on their work. Articles undergo careful review by other subject experts (i.e., peer review) before being published. Articles are usually quite long and detailed, are written at an expert level, and have a list of references (i.e., works cited) at the end.

For tips on finding peer-reviewed articles, see our Peer-Reviewed Journals and Articles guide.
