To find Primo:
1) Go to the Leeward CC Library website: http://www2.leeward.hawaii.edu/library/ [New Window].
2) Use the "Search for Books, Media, & Articles" box or click on the Primo button that appears on the bottom right next to "More Search Options."
3) The default search is a basic, simple search. A drop down menu will appear to specify preferred resources. The "Library Catalog" option is for Leeward CC Library's collection of books, ebooks, and media. You may select the "Advanced" tab for an advanced search.
To find ebooks available from our library search our ebook collections. Note that books from our ebook collections are only available to Leeward CC students, staff and faculty and you will be required to enter your UH login and password for off campus access.
Also, you can find some art and art history books available online from some museums that provide online access to art and art history books they have published. Click on the following links to view books made available online in full text by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and by Getty Publications.
Books in the library are housed according to their “call numbers.” Each book in the library is assigned a call number according to its topic and content.
Call numbers for art and art related books include:
N - visual arts
NA - architecture
NB - sculpture
NC - drawing, design, illustration
ND - painting
NE - print media
NK - decorative arts
NX - arts in general
TR - photography
TT - handicrafts, arts & crafts
Z - calligraphy, typesetting, printing, paper, book design, bookbinding
Where to find books about art:
- General Collection -- most books about art are housed in this collection
- Hawaiian Pacific Collection -- contains books about Hawaiian and Pacific art and artists
- Reference Collection -- includes art dictionaries and encyclopedias
