John Ronald Reuel Tolkien

Tolkien was an English author and scholar known around the world for writing “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings.” His works are largely inspired by his religious beliefs and love of language, mythology, and nature.

March 25th was chosen as Tolkien Reading Day to mark the date of Sauron’s downfall. It was established in 2003 by the Tolkien Society.
